Nightscapes
Since last year I had decided to make a personal project on a sequence of Nightscapes. I had never experiment with long exposures until we were given a brief at college, after this I continued to produce more for my own work. I loved the outcome's and soon got addicted! As you can see some of my images are stronger than others, this shows my development throughout the year. I will continue to produce more Nightscapes this year, however moving away from the country side and experimenting with urban/derelict buildings.
August Sander
August Sander was a German portrait and documentary photographer. Born 17th November 1876 Sander's first book Face of our Time was published in 1929. Sander has been described as "the most important German portrait photographer of the early twentieth century." April 20th 1964 he passed away in Cologne.
At college we were given an assignment to produce three pictures in the style of Sander. At first this seemed easy, but as I went along I found it quite tricky.
Feature’s
he continually worked with is the blank expression and shallow depth of field.
However when photographing it was a big step from any
other project we had been given because I had to stick to certain elements,
such as the depth of field, the blank expression, not to mention colour,
composition and visual. Below show Sanders work and my attempt to portray his style.

EU Fashion
At college we were set a brief to create a shoot reflecting an EU country through fashion using fill in flash. I chose UK street fashion. I chose street because around college are a lot of derelict buildings, and I thought I should use this to my advantage and base a shoot around it. Below are my three finals.
