Redeemer Nightclub, Leicester

The photographs below were taken at Redeemer Nightclub in Leicester. I've been working there for almost a year now and below are just a few of what I've done. Nightclub photography isn't my type at all, but I mainly went into it for the experience, with this gaining a huge amount of confidence at the same time. The photo's look like they might be point and shoot, but that's where its different, every club is different. Redeemer in particular is very dark and has a lot of coloured lights as well as smoke machines, for a photographer smoke machines are the worst! There are so many different things you have to be aware of when taking nightclub photo's that you might not usually do taking photo's out in the open. The settings I use is a 1/6 Shutter f.3.5 ISO:100 (with an attached speed light) I found these settings worked best and also the quality of the photo's outside managed to stay the same and didn't become over exposed which was great. Still after all this time I cannot say I've managed to learn the complete technique.

A day at Kilby Bridge

Today my dad, brother and I went up to Kilby to visit the new train bridge that has recently been built. This was the second time they had been and the first time for myself. Growing up around trains its strange to think that I've never really had much interest in them like my dad, but today I took the time out to spend some time with my family and to see what I could get. I'm quite pleased with the results as I didn't haven't much  confidence to start with but it ended on a good note. I particularly like the first one, the strangest thing about this photograph is that my dad and I captured the same composition without either of us knowing.

I walk past this tree across the fields when I walk from my mums to my dads. The first picture was taken with my dad two years ago, the second one today. I'm not sure what I like about this tree other than it stands in the middle of a field, I think from now on I will capture the tree in all seasons.

Italy

Last week from the 25th - 28th February the photography department visited Bergamo, Italy. I've never particularly crazed about going to Italy like most people, although after staying in Bergamo I'd like to stay in Sicily as this is where most tourists go due to how beautiful it is. It was amazing to actually be in Italy and walking around on the cobble stone paths and down tall narrow streets as it's usually seen only in films.
On the second day we visited a Museum in Milan, we also got given the chance to climb the Dumo di Milano which is Milan's Cathedral Church one the Milan's main tourist attractions. The Cathedral is the fifth largest in the world!
Below are a few photo's around Bergamo and Milan.

Birmingham

Last week I went to Birmingham to visit a friend and decided it would be an idea to take a few photo's. Unfortunately due to the freezing cold weather I gave up after two photo's. Anyway I really like how colourful they both are.
